Perhaps the most enticing feature about PlayStation Vue is the number of streams that can be watched at the same time. Vue users are granted a total of five simultaneous streams and up to 10 different user profiles per account, which outpaces the allowances from its competitors. This also makes Vue a great choice for larger families, as several people can stream to their device of choice without interfering with or barring another member of the family. Only two of the five simultaneous streams can be viewed away from home. The remaining three simultaneous streams must be viewed within the same home.
Vues cloud DVR feature is also an appealing bonus for those interested in recording live TV to watch later . Once recorded, your content will be stored for up to 28 days. There is some confusion as to the exact capacity of the DVR feature. In the past, Sony has said you can record up to 500 episodes, though there was no mention of how long it considered an episode to be 30 minutes? 60 minutes? More? Three-day replay and on-demand content are also available for a number of channels on the service, though Sony places some restrictions on certain DVR content. For instance, you cannot record HBO, ESPN Classic, Showtime, or Cinemax at all, and Fox, FX, and FXX will not let you fast-forward their DVRd shows. Best of all, the DVR feature is free, unlike Sling TVs.
Playstation Vue: How Much Is It
PlayStation Vue offers three subscription tiers in the original 7 launch cities: Access for $39.99 a month, Core for $44.99 a month, and Elite for $54.99 a month. If you’re unsure about PlayStation Vue, you can also always try it at no cost via the 7-day trial.
Nationwide however it is offering new “slim” packages that cut the live network programming from the big four.
The slim packages include Access Slim for $29.99 a month, Core Slim for $34.99 a month, and Elite Slim for $44.99 per month.
Can You Watch Ps Vue Away From Home
Yes. You can stream PlayStation Vue on up to 3 devices at the same time away from home. If you are using a Set-Top-Box or stick, you can only use one device at a time away from your home network.
If you are a sports fan, you will still be able to watch sports from your home area channel.
You can only watch PS Vue from outside your home network for 59 days. On the 60th day, you will be prompted to sign in from your home location to continue watching.

Sony unveiled its PlayStation Vue over-the-top internet television service nearly two years ago, in March of 2015. It includes live cable TV, on-demand video, and a cloud-based DVR for recording shows or sports all without a cable or Satellite TV subscription. And no, you dont need a PlayStation console to use it. In fact, it works on most mobile platforms as well as the common set-top boxes such as Roku and Apple TV.

Update August 201: Local Tv Streaming Grows Up
The last time I updated the same chart was August 2017. The five services that streamed live local TV then had a total of 630 local stations. At the time I didn’t include Fubo TV because that service hadn’t yet added any local channels — it began doing so in September 2017.
The updated August 2018 chart above more than triples that amount, detailing 2,035 local channels between the six services. In other words, a lot more people now have access to their local TV stations — streamed live over the internet — than a year ago.
Some fun facts, according to the chart:
With the exception of Sling, all five services continue to add local channels in an attempt to sign up viewers. Because most local stations, aka network affiliates, are owned by companies other than one of the big four networks in question, they usually require separate contracts with providers like streaming services, cable systems and satellite networks.
Sometimes those contracts don’t work out. A major case in point came in May, when Sinclair Broadcasting Group, a major owner of local stations nationwide, pulled its stations from Sony’s PlayStation Vue service. Vue lost a good chunk of channels, moving from second-most in August of 2017 to second-to-last now, beating only Sling. Even Fubo TV has more local channels than Vue.

What About Playstation Vue Local Channels
PlayStation Vue offers local channels like NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX, as well as regional sports networks, to fans living in select cities. Availability varies depending on where you live. You can search by your ZIP code to see whats available in your area. .
In general, Vue offers very good coverage of local channels. They are also expanding by regularly adding more local networks.
For PS Vue local channels, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. The first is that youll only get the channels that are relevant to your area. Also, Vue is constantly expanding, so any PlayStation Vue channels list you see that includes local channels is likely out of date. Its best to just check on the official website to see what is offered.
Lastly, another important thing to keep in mind is that even if a local channel is not available live in your area, you should still be able to get on-demand content from that channel. So, for example, if you want to watch NBC but dont live in an area where Vue offers NBC, you can still watch NBC shows on-demand. How Else You Can Watch Playstation Vue
About those other ways to watchyou have a bunch of options if your desktop crashes or you drop your laptop. Some of them might already be in your entertainment center or even your pocket.
You can test drive them all by signing up for a five-day trial. PlayStation Vue offers this with three of its four packages: Access , Core , and Elite .
Theres no trial for the Ultra package , but thats because it comes with HBO® and SHOWTIME®.

Connect To The Main Router
You are going to encounter the location error on your PS Vue if you are using a secondary router. The error occurs most likely because PS Vue detects the IP of the second device as a different location.
The easiest way to solve this error is by connecting your device to your primary router. Hotspots can also cause a similar error.
Playstation Vue: How Can You Watch It
Since launch, you’ve needed a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 3 console in order to watch PlayStation Vue on your television. However, on 12 November 2015, Sony announced that its streaming TV service is also now available on both the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV stick, with support coming “soon” for Google’s Chromecast. You can even watch it using an iPhone or iPad.
On 21 June 2016, Sony announced that PlayStation Vue has arrived for Roku devices. Additionally, the PlayStation Vue mobile app will come to Android smartphones and tablets by end of June.

It was announced at the end of October 2019 that the PlayStation Vue service would be shut down by Sony Interactive Entertainment as of January 30th, 2020. Here is their statement:
So if you currently have service you will continue to enjoy all the benefits of PlayStation Vue until they shut down on 1/30/20.
They will not be taking new subscribers on at this point.
Playstation Vue Network Down Or Buffering Problems
PlayStation Vue is the online streaming service that connects all of your favorite cable channels into one integrated hub allowing you to watch whatever you want direct from your PS4 console.
It is the ultimate home entertainment service for many users and the monthly plans can include access to premium channels such as HBO Now, Showtime, FOX, FOX Sports, NBCSN and much more.

Yes. You can access your favorite shows from PS Vues My Shows library while on the go. You can add shows to your library and even access on-demand shows.
However, you cannot record any content that is specific to the place you are visiting.

Rather than pay for a live TV service like this, thousands of cord cutters choose to install an antenna and watch over-the-air TV for free. Aside from the cost savings, antennas have the added advantage of picking up every available local, including public broadcast stations.

Sony Adds 200 Local Tv Channels To Playstation Vue
Sony today announced the addition of 200 local broadcast stations for the big four networks ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC to its PlayStation Vue TV subscription service. The 200 channels are spread across select markets. With this latest batch, Sony now claims that Vue offers more than 450 ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC stations throughout the US.
Thats not to say that all customers can access all four channels. Some Vue subscribers can only get one or two of them and sometimes none at all in certain areas. A full list of the new local stations can be found here.
Do more local networks make up for the lack of Viacom?
Sony is trying to bulk up Vues programming choices after having lost Viacom networks like Comedy Central and Nickelodeon. And more recently in May, Sinclair pulled the ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC affiliates that it controls off the service, leaving those local customers only with on-demand streaming for the four networks.
Todays large add of 200 local stations nationwide pushes back against the idea that Vues content options are shrinking. Sony says the new local stations come at no extra cost, but thats a little misleading. These days everyone pays the same price for PlayStation Vue. But in the services earlier days, customers who lived in areas where Vue didnt yet offer live, local ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC stations could pay less money for a slim Vue subscription.

- Elite Package $59.99/mo: This package includes 90+ HD channels includes Access and Core package channels, plus more sports, movie and entertainment networks.
- Ultra Package $79.99/mo: This package includes 90+ HD channels included in Elite Slim package, but also includes HBO and Showtime.
Depending on which package you choose and your market, additional local, live and premium channels may also be included in the list. Of note, A& E network channels are not a part of the Vue service.
UPDATE November 8, 2016: Playstation Vue was not able to come to an agreement with Viacom Networks, and as such their stations are no longer included with Vue service. Popular stations no longer available include Comedy Central, BET, Spike, MTV, Nick Jr. and others.
